Main goal
UEFA is seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Venue Engineering Expert to support the technical delivery of live broadcast operations at UEFA EURO 2028. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in broadcast engineering, venue operations and large-scale live event environments, with proven experience managing complex technical projects under tight timelines.
Working under the supervision of the Senior Broadcast Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in venue planning, technical documentation, supplier coordination and technical proposal analysis to ensure the seamless execution of broadcast services across all tournament venues.
Key responsibilities
Venue broadcast operations and event planning
- Supporting the technical planning and implementation of broadcast operations at all UEFA EURO 2028 venues, including on‑site inspections and the preparation of detailed technical venue reports (cabling, lighting, power, etc.)
- Designing and maintaining broadcast compound layouts, equipment placement plans, cable routes, power distribution schemes and container positioning
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely deployment of broadcast infrastructure and systems
- Collaborating effectively within UEFA to ensure successful tournament-wide technical delivery
- Producing and maintaining comprehensive documentation such as schematics, workflow diagrams, equipment inventories and technical drawings
- Assisting with supplier logistics, including delivery scheduling, on‑site supervision and operational coordination
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, technical standards and operational procedures
Technical proposal writing and analysis
- Contributing to the drafting of technical service proposals, functional specifications and resource planning documents
- Developing broadcast system diagrams, workflow documentation and signal path designs
- Supporting the evaluation of responses to requests for proposals and information, focusing on technical feasibility, cost effectiveness and vendor suitability
- Providing analytical input to ensure that proposed solutions meet UEFA’s broadcast standards and operational requirements
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in broadcast engineering, with a strong focus on venue-based or live event operations
- Experience in major live sports event planning, technical scheduling and resource coordination
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, electrical engineering, media technology or a related field (preferred but not mandatory)
Languages:
- English / Proficient
Other requirements:
- Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected
- Extensive knowledge of video and audio engineering, including signal flow, encoding/decoding, synchronisation, routing and fault diagnosis
- Strong understanding of broadcast transmission systems, RF/AV infrastructure and live production technologies
- Proficiency in technical layout and documentation tools such as AutoCAD, Visio or similar platforms
- Excellent organisational, communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in live event environments
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Self-driven, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
