FIFA27 will be established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work together with FIFA HQ in Zurich, to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ (“FWWC”).
The Head of Commercial Partnerships has responsibility, under the leadership of FIFA’s Director Commercial Partnerships and the operational guidance of the Brazil Entity Chief Operations Officers, for the successful implementation and coordination of the commercial revenue programs for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™.
This cross-functional position plays a critical role in planning, managing and implementing Host Country commercial revenues activities related to sponsorship sales, partnership management & partner rights delivery and commercial operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- In close cooperation with FIFA’s Commercial Partnerships department, manage the day-to-day implementation plans in relation to the Tournament’s commercial partnerships programs, as well as manage relevant local sales agencies and service providers.
- Working with Relevant Department Heads from FIFA, lead the Host Country commercial partnerships staff across sponsorship sales, partnership management and partner rights delivery.
- Work with FIFA Commercial Partnerships Sub-Division and Host Country to shape integrated plans and strategies, including relevant sales and operational plans.
- Working closely with the FIFA Partnership Sales team, ensure the effective delivery of the Tournament’s sponsorship sales with a focus on regional sponsorships in host country.
- Identify and develop strong relationships with potential key sponsors and agencies in the host country and wider region, proactively lead on contract negotiations, and contribute to maintaining strong and effective relationships with sponsors.
- Manage the regional sponsorship sales process in accordance with the defined timetable and priorities and negotiate agreements across relevant markets.
- In close alignment with FIFA Partnership Management team, contribute to building strong and successful relationships with FIFA partners.
- Working closely with FIFA Partner Rights Delivery team in Zurich and with the support of a local team, deliver all commercial operations as per the rights granted to Commercial Partners for the competition and competition-related events and sites.
- In close collaboration with the FIFA Partner Rights Delivery team in Zurich and Brazil, ensure successful implementation of the public Food & Beverage (F&B) concessions programme across all stadiums.
- Manage and support a talented team of individuals, located at Brazil HQ across all commercial partnerships and licensing projects.
- 10+ years of international commercial experience in sport
- Proven experience within global sports / Rights Holder environment
- Proven track record managing major commercial programs across sponsorship sales, partnership management and commercial operations
- Proven and successful track record in opening, negotiating and closing significant multi-year, multi-million sponsorship deals
- Knowledge of commercial operations in major event settings and/or the sports industry
- Experienced negotiator and ability to manage complex and lengthy processes
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple teams and at varying levels
- Experience and knowledge of local markets and culture
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment
- Ability to hire, develop, coach, appraise and retain qualified employees
- Experience of managing multi-disciplined teams across a variety of business areas
- Capacity to make key decisions for the business through critical problem-solving skills and an ability to use sound judgement
- Creative and strategic thinker from a diverse background
- Proficient in preparing and managing budgets
- Proven organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, particularly under pressure
- Solid operational and strategic marketing knowledge/experience
- Operational knowledge and experience in major international events, preferably sports events
