Reporting organizationally to the Senior Telecoms Manager, the Network Manager (NWM) will be a key member of the FIFA27 Technology team. The NWM will work closely with the FIFA Technology teams and the Stadia Teams, as well as other stakeholders. The NWM will understand the stadia legacy network ensuring it will support FIFA’s needs during the FWWC 2027. The NWM will also manage the integration between FIFA’s Game’s Time network and the legacy network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the planning, delivery, and operations of network infrastructure for FIFA and Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS) offices, FIFA Special Events, and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
- Review and validate Network Infrastructure designs, ensuring all deliverables—hardware, passive infrastructure, cybersecurity, monitoring, alerting, etc.—are implemented according to FIFA standards across venues and offices.
- Actively participate in scope definition, procurement processes, supplier selection, and onboarding of Telco and Network service providers.
- Lead the deployment and implementation of network infrastructure, securing timely availability of components and services, including the commissioning and decommissioning of event venues.
- Oversee the effective and efficient delivery of Network services for FIFA offices, tournaments, and selected FIFA events. Monitor progress, report status, identify risks, and ensure alignment with IT governance.
- Perform equipment configuration, testing, handover, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support network-related projects by clarifying requirements, following robust change management procedures, and ensuring clear communication across stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to team members, including preparing best-practice materials and training resources
- Create and/or manage KPIs dashboards for operating stadia networks (FIFA’s and legacy) for the Telecom Command Center (TCC)
Education
- University degree or similar higher education, in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or related field
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years overall IT experience and minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role
- Prior experience in the Sports / major event industry is highly preferred
- Proven experience of successful delivery of complex network infrastructure projects
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical expertise in telecom service provider networks, wired/wireless infrastructure design and deployment, network integration, and connectivity.
- Proven experience with WAN/LAN, MPLS, VPN, routing and switching technologies, and multicast operations.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP) or equivalent professional experience.
- Solid understanding of structured cabling (copper and fiber) in heterogeneous environments.
- Excellent consulting, negotiation, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to train and present to diverse audiences.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrates patience, persistence, and a positive attitude.
- Experience delivering wireless networks in complex, high‑density environments.
- Grafana, PowerBI and other BI related tools for creating dashboards or collecting data.
Certifications & Requirements
- Right to work in Brazil
- Fluent in English
- Native or Fluent in Portugues
- Proficiency in any other FIFA language (FR / ES / GER) is an asset

- Willing to travel within Brazil (up to 30%), with some trips with a long duration (15 days or more)
