Based at the City Football Academy in Manchester, this permanent full-time role supports the physical performance of Manchester City Women’s First Team. You will help create an engaging, evidence-informed performance environment, working closely with players, coaches and the wider multidisciplinary team to support physical development, training readiness, recovery and performance across a demanding domestic and international competition schedule.

Within Performance Services, we work collaboratively to help players perform with high skill and high intensity across the season. The Physical Performance team plays an important role in connecting strength and conditioning, profiling, training design, rehabilitation, recovery and evidence-informed practice to support individual players and the team.
The Role
As 1st Team Physical Performance Coach, you will plan, deliver and review evidence-informed strength and conditioning support across gym, pitch and return-to-play environments. Your work will help maximise individual physical development and group performance, supporting players to adapt, recover and perform across training, matchdays and multiple competitions.
You will collaborate with technical staff, medical colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to design training schedules, deliver physical profiling, monitor player load and wellness, and translate data into practical insight. You will also support rehabilitation and return-to-performance programmes, recovery and regeneration interventions, and matchday physical performance delivery when required.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of MCWFC Physical Performance, including projects, professional learning and the evolution of systems that support decision-making. The role will involve domestic, continental and international travel with the team, including overnight stays.
What You’ll Bring⚽BSc in Sport Science, Strength and Conditioning or a related discipline, with a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent applied experience.
⚽UKSCA accreditation, equivalent accreditation, or active progress towards an appropriate professional accreditation.
⚽Experience working in an elite sporting environment, with the ability to deliver physical development programmes that support measurable performance outcomes.
⚽Experience working effectively within a high-performing interdisciplinary team, collaborating with coaches, medical staff, players and wider performance colleagues.
⚽Ability to use performance-related data, physical profiling and monitoring information to inform practice and support decision-making.
⚽Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and adapt practice through reflection and feedback.Why Choose Us
