Main goal
The Accommodation Manager leads the accommodation strategy, planning and delivery for UEFA National Team Competitions (NTC) and related events, ensuring high-quality accommodation solutions for teams, officials, VIP guests, partners and staff.
Acting as the accommodation project lead for major tournaments, including UEFA EURO 2028, the role oversees the full accommodation lifecycle, from hotel sourcing and contracting to operational delivery and event-time execution. The Accommodation Manager leads a dedicated team, manages key hotel and supplier partnerships, and drives accommodation excellence across UEFA's NTC portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Strategic planning and project leadership
- Defining and delivering accommodation strategies, project plans, budgets and timelines for UEFA National Team Competitions and related events
- Leading accommodation projects from concept to delivery, managing risks, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure successful outcomes
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, accommodation agencies, hotels and other service providers
Hotel contracting and procurement
- Leading hotel sourcing, procurement procedures and contracting processes across the NTC portfolio
- Negotiating and managing hotel contracts, rates, room inventories and reservation processes
- Ensuring that accommodation solutions meet the needs of all stakeholder groups and are contractually compliant
- Overseeing the performance of accommodation agencies, hotel and other suppliers to ensure that they fulfil their contractual obligations, provide the agreed service levels and meet all operational requirements
Operational management
- Overseeing accommodation planning, operational readiness and delivery standards across the NTC portfolio
- Ensuring alignment between accommodation operations and other event functional areas
- Supporting accommodation project leads and monitoring delivery against agreed objectives and service standards
- Managing accommodation programmes for teams, officials, VIP guests, teams, partners and staff for designated events
Event-time operations
- Leading accommodation operations during tournaments and related events
- Managing on-site accommodation teams and resolving operational challenges in a fast-paced environment
- Monitoring service delivery, reporting to leadership and overseeing financial reconciliation
Leadership and team management
- Leading, coaching and developing the NTC accommodation team fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
- Setting priorities, allocating resources and ensuring effective workload management across competitions and projects
- Providing guidance and support to accommodation project leads throughout planning and delivery phases
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and development of event-time staff
Requirements
Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in accommodation, hospitality, event management or a related field, preferably in the context of international sporting events
- Proven experience of managing complex projects and accommodation operations in a fast-paced environment
- Experience overseeing accommodation delivery through agencies, suppliers or hotel partners for large-scale sporting events or similarly complex environments
- Experience negotiating and managing hotel contracts, supplier relationships and procurement processes.
- Previous people management experience, including team leadership, coaching and development.
Languages:
- English: Proficient
Other requirements:
- Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and solution-driven, with the ability to anticipate risks and resolve complex operational challenges
- Willingness to travel within Europe/UEFA territory and work irregular hours during events
