An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised Physiotherapist to join the Fulham FC Foundation team, working in a casual capacity to support our ‘Football & Education’ teams. The successful candidate will provide injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services through a weekly clinic and deliver pitch-side medical support on matchdays.
This role will have two key responsibilities that will support our ‘Football & Education Programme’ to maximise player performance, enhance recovery, reduce injury risk, and minimise the risk to players during a pitch side medical emergency.
The successful candidates first responsibility will be providing a weekly injury clinic to our participants to make sure they are receiving correct treatment and advice to minimise any potential injuries. As well as supporting the coaching team to make sure that any injuries caused due to training methods are minimised.
Although this role is casual, with the hours varying across the season, meaning that there is no set timetable. There are some key times when the injury clinic and fixtures will occur. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have good availability during the late morning/early afternoons of the working week. Please be aware that some away fixtures will take up the majority of the working day.
Salary: £25 p/h
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
· Deliver a weekly two-hour physiotherapy clinic for injured players.
· Assess, diagnose and treat football-related injuries.
· Develop and monitor rehabilitation programmes.
· Provide injury prevention advice and education.
· Maintain accurate treatment and injury records.
The role's second responsibility will be to provide medical and emergency support during match days across both our male and female teams. This responsibility will include:
· Attend designated fixtures as required.
· Provide pitch-side assessment and injury management.
· Deliver first aid and emergency medical care where necessary.
· Ensure medical equipment and supplies are maintained.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have an excellent knowledge of rehabilitation and injury prevention, with extensive experience of delivering these within a sporting background. You will also be expected to have experience of providing medical support during match days, and of having excellent organisation and communication skills to support the wider coaching team.
The following qualifications, skills and experience are essential:
· FA Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football certificate or equivalent first aid qualification. – Could get away with PHCIS Level 2.
· BSc in Physiotherapy or Sport Rehabilitation
· Sports Trauma Management or Emergency Aid in Sport qualification.
