This role will manage a specific kitchen section and assist the senior kitchen team in delivering high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for professional football players, first team and academy coaching staff, and club employees, supporting the club’s performance and recovery strategies.
The role helps ensure food preparation aligns with elite athlete performance, recovery, and health requirements. You will play a key part in fuelling elite athletes, contributing directly to performance, recovery, and overall well-being.
You will help maintain the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation, while embracing a forward-thinking and adaptable approach to sports nutrition. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of an elite sporting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook fresh meals for players and staff while managing a kitchen section and maintaining high nutrition, quality, portion, and presentation standards
Follow nutritionist-designed meal plans to support training, recovery, and matchdays using healthy, performance-focused ingredients
Keep the kitchen organised, clean, and fully stocked while assisting with meal prep for breakfast, lunch, and snacks during busy service periods
Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP), including correct storage, labelling, and temperature control
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team, supporting and guiding junior staff when needed
Assist with matchday and travel catering, ensuring meals are prepared and delivered on time for performance schedules
We’re looking for someone proactive, personable, and who thrives in a busy environment. You’ll be a key point of contact, so building trust, staying organised, and maintaining confidentiality are all essential.
You’ll have:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery
Level 2 0r 3 Food hygiene certificate
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a chef de partie in a high-volume, high-standard environment
Excellent food safety and allergen knowledge
Strong understanding of nutrition, dietary needs healthy eating, particularly within a sports or health focused setting
