Reporting to the Volunteer Operations Manager – FIFA27, the Volunteer Operations Coordinator will help bring together thousands of volunteers across the 8 Host Cities.
In this role, you will support the planning and delivery of the main milestones of the FIFA Volunteer Programme, in the areas of promoting, recruiting, training, and tournament time. You will work closely with other Functional Areas and the 8 Host Cities of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™.
We are looking for someone with previous experience in volunteer operations or event operations, who understands the challenges and opportunities of a major global event delivery, and has a professional background working in Brazil.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the planning, coordination and the daily operations of the FIFA Volunteer Programme – including the provision of the volunteer services such as transport, catering, rewards and recognition.
- Work on the volunteer journey milestones, such as promotional events, recruitment, training, and tournament-time operations including the Official Draw and Tournament Playoffs.
- Contribute to volunteer headcount planning efforts working closely with all Functional Areas to collect volunteer requirements and volunteer shifts.
- Support working relationships with Host City teams, stadium authorities, and service providers to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Help develop volunteer policies and procedures that follow FIFA standards and guidelines.
- Support the planning and delivery of the readiness workshops for the FWWC27 Volunteer Management team to ensure all locations are prepared for operations.
- Support procurement processes (including RFI and RFP) for all services needed for volunteer operations from launch through tournament time, in coordination with Volunteer Operations Manager – FIFA27.
- Support work with Functional Areas to ensure all volunteer-related services are planned and delivered according to the FIFA standards ensuring a consistent volunteer experience across all 8 host cities.
- Education: Master in Sports Management or Event Management or Project Management preferred.
- Experience: 3 years +
- Working experience in volunteer programmes supporting the volunteer journey, including promotion, recruitment, engagement and tournament time operations.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to develop beneficial working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to prioritise tasks, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environment, with the flexibility and resilience to adapt to change and remain solution oriented.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Portuguese (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate clearly across diverse teams and cultures.
- A collaborative and inclusive team player, capable of working effectively with colleagues both on-site and remotely, while fostering a positive and respectful working environment.
- Right to work in Brazil.
