About the Role:

This individual will be responsible for delivering the procurement strategy of the Club, ensuring that activities are carried out in a timely manner whilst achieving best value for the Club. The Procurement Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Infrastructure and Procurement in implementing procurement strategies and efficiently managing the end‑to‑end procurement process.

In addition, the role holds responsibility for the line management, development, and performance of the Procurement team. This includes providing leadership, prioritising workloads, ensuring compliance with procurement governance, and developing team capability to support both operational and strategic procurement objectives.

The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of the procurement function by combining strong leadership with hands‑on delivery, executing tasks with precision and efficiency, maintaining a keen eye for detail, and fostering positive relationships internally and externally to enhance the Club’s supply chain and value for money.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with the Head of Infrastructure and Procurement to execute and implement procurement strategies aligned with the club's goals and financial objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Line manage members of the Procurement team, overseeing performance, development, and delivery of procurement activity.
- Allocate workload, set objectives, and provide coaching and escalation support to ensure compliance, value for money, and high service standards.
- Develop team capability and promote consistent procurement processes, governance, and best practice across the Club.
- Sourcing and purchasing a diverse range of products and services for the club and to achieve quality, delivery and cost targets through effective supplier management.
- Onboarding of new vendors, assessing their suitability and compliance to be a supplier to the club.
- Analyse spend data and identify areas of cost reduction.
- Review and analyse requisitions from various departments, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements specific to the club's needs.
- Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders, including different departments within the club, to gather specific requirements and specifications for goods and services.
- Monitor supplier performance closely, addressing any issues or concerns promptly to maintain the highest standards for the club.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project procurement needs and deadlines within the club.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement activities for the club.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of strong supplier relationships to optimise the club's supply chain.

What are we looking for:

- Qualified to at least CIPS Level 4.
- Proven experience in procurement or a related role.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to assess supplier capabilities and negotiate favourable terms specific to the club's needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, including different departments within the club, and suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic club environment.
- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
