Based in Manchester, this permanent role gives you the opportunity to shape new product ideas before they move into scaled technology delivery. Working across prototypes, journeys and early concept validation, you will help turn strategy into clear, testable and technically considered product experiences that are ready for build.
Who We Are
Founded in 2013, City Football Group is the world’s leading private owner and operator of football clubs, with teams across the globe connected by a shared belief in doing things differently. Alongside our clubs, we invest in football-related businesses and build partnerships that help the game, and the communities around it, thrive. Everything we do is guided by our purpose: empowering better lives through football. Rooted in more than a century of “City” football, we are proud of the role our clubs play locally and globally, creating positive impact on and off the pitch.
Within our Product team, we work to turn approved ideas into experiences that are clear, useful and ready for delivery. This role sits close to Product Managers, Technology Solutions and operational colleagues, helping us reduce ambiguity early, test assumptions quickly and make sure product concepts are well defined before scaled implementation begins.
The Role
The Product Designer plays an important part in shaping product concepts before they move into scaled technology delivery. You will help transform approved strategy into tangible journeys, prototypes and experience ideas that can be tested, refined and assessed for early technical feasibility.
A big part of the role is making ideas easier to understand and easier to build. You will create wireframes, prototypes and interaction models, map customer journeys, and work with user feedback, operational insight and performance data to improve concepts before they enter the build phase.
You will work closely with Product Managers, Technology Solutions, engineers and wider stakeholders across commercial, marketing and operational teams. By bringing clarity to requirements and helping identify what is possible, what needs to change and where development is required, you will support better collaboration and improved product readiness across the team.
What You’ll Bring
Experience designing digital products, user journeys or customer experiences within product, digital or commerce environments.
Proven ability in prototyping, journey mapping and concept validation.
Understanding of user experience, interaction design and usability principles.
Experience creating wireframes, prototypes and interface designs using relevant design tools.
Ability to work collaboratively with Product Managers, engineers and technology teams to shape early requirements and assess feasibility.
Clear and effective communication skills, with structured problem-solving ability and comfort working in ambiguity.
