What is the role?

We are seeking a reliable and professional Night Security Officer to join our dedicated team. Working primarily alone, you will be responsible for securing the stadium, conducting regular patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, and managing access control. You will act as the first point of response for any incidents or emergencies overnight, maintaining a calm, proactive, and professional approach at all times.

What will you be doing?

As a Night Security Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of St Mary’s Stadium outside of operational hours. You’ll safeguard the site, respond to incidents, and ensure our facilities remain secure through the night.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a consistent, visible, and effective security presence throughout the stadium overnight.
  • Carry out lock-up, unlock, and site integrity checks, ensuring all areas are safe and secure.
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, responding promptly to any alerts or suspicious activity.
  • Conduct perimeter and internal patrols in accordance with lone-worker safety procedures.
  • Manage access points, oversee staff or contractor entry, and record all site movements.
  • Respond to incidents, liaise with emergency services when necessary, and complete accurate reports.
  • Provide first aid and conflict management support as required.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and fire safety procedures.

Is this you?

You’ll have previous experience in site or event security and hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence. You’ll be comfortable working independently, demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and reliability at all times. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, as you’ll represent the club to staff, visitors, and contractors during out-of-hours operations.

Essential Requirements

  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence (valid and in-date)
  • Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism and discretion
  • Confident working alone and making decisions under pressure
  • Flexible to work a 4 on / 4 off night rota, including weekends and public holidays
  • Enhanced DBS Check (including Child’s Barred List)

Desirable

  • SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence
  • Previous experience in a lone-working security role or sports venue environment
  • Knowledge of safeguarding best practices in a sports setting
