With more females involved in playing than ever before, the organisation is now focused on increasing female representation across all off‑pitch volunteer roles - from club administration and welfare to media, facilities and governance.
The Volunteer Coordinator (Female Growth) will play a pivotal role in driving this change and supporting the continued development of the game across the county.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Volunteer Coordinator (Female Growth) will lead the recruitment, development and support of female volunteers throughout Staffordshire. Working closely with clubs, leagues, community partners and education providers, the postholder will help create clear, accessible pathways into volunteering and ensure volunteers feel confident, valued and supported.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence volunteer culture, enhance club capacity, and contribute to long‑term growth and sustainability within grassroots football.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Increase female representation in volunteering, promoting opportunities across all off‑pitch roles.
- Plan and deliver recruitment campaigns to attract, engage and retain volunteers.
- Establish and maintain volunteering pathways, providing mentoring, training and ongoing support.
- Work with England Football Accredited Clubs & Leagues to strengthen volunteer structures and inclusive practices.
- Collaborate with community groups, schools, youth organisations and faith groups to widen access to volunteering.
- Coordinate learning and development programmes, including FA Club Maker, Run Football modules and Females into Volunteering events.
- Provide excellent volunteer support across FA systems, ensuring positive user experiences.
- Embed safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion in all areas of volunteer development.
WHAT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BRING
- A strong passion for grassroots football and its impact on individuals and communities.
- Previous volunteering experience, bringing real-world insight and credibility.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisation, time‑management and proactive problem‑solving abilities.
- Digital confidence, with the ability to use and support others on FA systems.
- Adaptability and resilience, with willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- A commitment to inclusivity, ensuring all volunteers feel welcome and valued.
- A full, clean driving licence, with access to a vehicle for travel across the county.
