POSITION SUMMARY
The Summer Camp Assistant Soccer Coach supports the delivery of a dynamic, engaging, and developmentally appropriate soccer program for campers of varying ages (6-11) and skill levels. Working closely with the Lead Soccer Coach, the Assistant Soccer Coach helps facilitate daily training sessions, games, and recreational activities while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. This role contributes to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive camp environment that reflects Rochambeau’s core values of respect, responsibility, and diversity. The successful candidate serves as a positive role model for campers, assists with supervision and behavior management, and helps ensure that all participants enjoy a rewarding athletic experience while developing their soccer skills and confidence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Lead Summer Camp Soccer Coach in delivering engaging, age-appropriate soccer practices, games, and recreational activities.
Supervise campers throughout the day, ensuring their safety, well-being, and active participation in all activities.
Foster the development of soccer skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and a love of the game.
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that reflects Rochambeau’s values of respect, responsibility, and diversity.
Support behavior management by modeling appropriate conduct and reinforcing camp expectations.
Prepare, organize, and maintain soccer equipment, playing areas, and activity materials.
Monitor camper attendance and maintain accountability during activities and transitions.
Communicate promptly with the Lead Coach regarding camper needs, safety concerns, injuries, or behavioral issues.
Follow all camp policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines while representing Rochambeau in a professional manner.
Minimum of one (1) year of soccer coaching experience (school, club, or college level)
Mastery of soccer rules, techniques, and tactical strategies
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
Proven ability to physically demonstrate technical drills and exercises
Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work for all training sessions and league matches
Computer and technological literacy
Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information
Three Professional References (name, position, contact number and email) listed on your CV/resume
Bilingual proficiency in French and English is strongly preferred
Experience coaching in an international or multicultural school environment
Experience coaching a wide range of age groups in Primary School
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position primarily operates in an outdoor athletic environment, with occasional sessions in an indoor gymnasium. The role requires physical mobility, including the ability to demonstrate athletic movements, prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting or moving of athletic equipment (ball bags, cones, goals, etc.) up to 40 pounds.
