The Charlotte FC Academy vision is to provide a high-performance environment for the most talented, high-potential young soccer players from across the Carolinas and across the country. Our mission is to develop high-level players that can be successful in Major League Soccer (MLS) and beyond. Position Summary
This position will lead all day-to-day administrative operations of the Charlotte FC Academy. The role will include Academy scheduling, travel logistics, managing the Academy communications app, equipment, and transportation. The ideal candidate strives for flawless execution and actively seeks ways to improve the daily experience for our Academy staff, players and families.
Primary Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily.
- Organize and coordinate the weekly Academy schedule.
- Plan and book all Academy travel including ground travel, air travel and all lodging.
- Execute all Academy Player and Staff registration for MLS Next.
- Play active role in managing Academy budget and financial reporting in coordination with Head of Player Development & Transition and Technical Director.
- Manage Academy communications app – “Teamworks”.
- Organize, track, and distribute all Academy player and staff equipment and uniform, including printing of uniform.
- Transportation of some players to practice daily.
- Travel with teams on away trips and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar area of study or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Previous experience in youth or professional sports administration.
- Experience in budget management.
- Excellent Skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends, including events held on weekends, nights, and holidays when necessary.
- Must be flexible and willing to travel to away trips and events.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to drive team van during team travel as required.
- Must pass pre-employment screens.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of MLS and league rules preferred
- Familiarity with Teamwork’s App
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
This position operates in a professional office environment and outside, in a stadium and practice facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Travel will be required to matches nationally, and on occasion internationally.
• Must be able to work Charlotte FC Academy matches, home and away, including internationally
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs., loading and moving equipment as necessary.
• Ability to remain sitting/standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to climb stairs, bend, lift, carry, reach, and stoop as necessary when working with equipment.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc.
• Must be able to work in non-traditional settings, and work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
