The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Accessibility Manager working alongside the FIFA Zurich Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination team and reporting to the Head of Sustainability is responsible for supporting the successful development and implementation of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ with a particular focus on accessibility and inclusivity.
This position plays an integral part in ensuring a successful Tournament through the implementation of accessible infrastructure and services.
As the Tournament draws closer, this role will evolve from planning into operations resulting in an assignment to a competition or non-competition location for the Tournament period.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the delivery of key Sustainability & Human Rights Strategy initiatives to:
- Ensure an accessible FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ for disabled people and people with limited mobility, including:
- Auditing of official FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ sites against FIFA’s accessibility requirements.
- Ensuring improvements to fulfil those requirements are implemented.
- Working with multiple functional areas and stakeholders to ensure accessible services and guidance are delivered for participants, attendees and workforce.
- Developing and delivering accessibility training and awareness raising for key functional areas and stakeholders.
Liaise with and/or support host cities and other organisations in Brazil or functional areas in their delivery of initiatives that:
- Facilitate accessibility for disabled people and people with limited mobility across physical infrastructure, public transport and services in Brazil.
- Build local accessibility expertise to deliver the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ and foster the development of the sports and events industries in the region.
- Empower people in the region through football programmes and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ platform.
As a member of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Sustainability & Human Rights Team:
- Design and implement sustainable procurement practices that facilitate a welcoming and accessible tournament experience for participants, attendees and workforce.
- Work closely with FIFA Human Rights & Anti-Discrimination staff based in Zurich and relevant teams within the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ entity to deliver jointly managed projects and activities.
- Assist the planning and coordination of meetings, workshops and site visits.
Minimum requirements:
- A deep passion for sustainability and inclusivity, driven to leveraging the unique value of mega-sporting events to contribute to sustainable development goals and the promotion of responsible business practices;
- Deep familiarity with national and international accessibility standards for disabled people;
- 5 years of work experience implementing accessibility programmes;
- Experience of working in a comparable role in an international, fast-paced environment, complex project, preferably in the events and/or sports industry;
- Proven track record of generating productive stakeholder relationships that successfully deliver sustainability/social responsibility outcomes;
- Demonstrated ability in event planning and event project management, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English communication; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) planning software and online collaboration tools.
Candidates with experience in the following areas will have an advantage:
- University degree in social sciences, human rights, equality, diversity and/or international relations;
- In-depth knowledge of social responsibility issues, particularly in the context of mega-sporting events;
- Developing and delivering capacity-building programmes and training material for internal and external stakeholders;
- Sustainability performance management, reporting and communications;
- Working in sports and/or events;
- International work experience; and
Unique knowledge and skills:
- Quick learner with ability to grasp complex structures, projects and relationships in a short timeframe;
- Self-motivated, extremely well organised, proactive and accurate;
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written);
- Strong relationship building and conflict resolution skills;
- Capacity for interacting with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds; and
- Knowledge of worldwide socio-political and sustainability issues.

Requirements
- Right to work in Brazil.
- Bilingual - Portuguese and English.
- Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro until the beginning of the Tournament and to assigned Host City for the Tournament operational period.
