The Role of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
We require a strength and conditioning coach to play a key role in our injury prevention and physical development processes. The successful applicant will work closely with first team performance and medical staff, assisting with the design, implementation and evolution of all physical development systems. This will include occasional match day duties and potential travel opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience delivering strength and conditioning services to elite field-based athletes. Previous experience utilising various testing and monitoring technology such as VALD is highly desirable.
This person must possess elite level planning and communication skills. They will be a team player who is committed to both self and departmental professional growth.
Main Accountabilities
Specific duties will include:
Assist in the set up and delivery of strength training sessions within the first team and occasionally B-Team.
Assist in pre-field based coaching sessions covering, sprint mechanics and COD mechanics
Lead in the collection of profiling battery for the 1st team. Inc VALD, Kangatec, VBT and any other profiling exercises we include throughout the season
Deliver occasional speed sessions and on and off-feet conditioning sessions
To be available to work irregular hours and travel if required for camps and fixtures
Assist with the design and implementation of strength-based rehab content
Assist in the design and implementation of off-feet conditioning based rehab content
Assist physical testing, profiling and feedback processes
Assist and facilitate strength and conditioning sessions for selected groups of main squad athletes
Assist/oversee recovery sessions
Assist in the physical preparation of athletes prior to training

Person Specification - Essential Characteristics
Strong interpersonal skills facilitating the ability to connect with a wide demographic
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Degree in Strength and Conditioning or related field
A proven track record of professional development
Strength and conditioning based qualification e.g. UKSCA, ASCA, NSCA
Flexible and willing to take on ad-hoc tasks as this role will require holiday and weekend work hours
