Main Purpose of Job

Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators set by the Premier League Charitable Fund are not only met but are impactful for all our participants. The role is to work as part of the School Sport Team to create, deliver and evaluate classroom and physical activity based educational lessons covering several national curriculum subjects as well as providing PE CPD sessions for primary school teachers.

The post holder will design and coordinate a calendar of themed events, tournaments and competitions to promote the Premier League Primary Stars project and our wider Trust offer.

Responsibilities

  • To lead on the planning and coordination of all Primary Stars & Joy of Moving provision
    Delivery of Teacher CPD Support and Workshops
  • Utilising existing and create new and engaging English, Maths and PSHE Resources for workshops or longer targeted intervention groups to disengaged, low attainment or poor behaviour.
  • Working closely with external partners to provide additional opportunities for pupils to represent their school in sporting competitions
  • Writing of Impact, Monitoring and Evaluating Reports for the Trust and the PLCF
  • Weekly delivery of various aspects of the PL Primary Stars programme to pupils from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, including those with additional educational needs.
  • Work closely with the Area Managers (Hounslow & Richmond, Ealing & Hillingdon and Berkshire & Surrey) to identify and network with schools to increase participation in the Trust’s Primary Stars & Joy of Moving offer.
  • Line management of Primary Stars Officer and Coaches, to include 1:1s and objective setting.
  • To develop robust quality assurance processes for all aspects of the PL Primary Stars & Joy of Moving programme.
  • Follow established protocols for data protection and privacy.
  • Stay informed about safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in training sessions related to safeguarding and emergency response.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities or designated personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, concerns, and actions taken.

Essential Criteria

  • Must be working towards or hold the Combined Level 3 Teaching Assistant and Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualifications specialising in Physical Education (L3TA & L4HLTA).
  • Minimum Level 2 or above sports coaching qualification
  • Safeguarding certificate
  • Emergency Aid certificate
  • Current Enhanced DBS
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in delivering PE Curriculum Coaching
  • Experience in planning and delivering sports activities, in curriculum-based PE and after school club environments.
  • Experience in understanding and commitment to physical education, sport, and long-term athlete development.
  • Ability to travel to variety of workplaces within Staines & Spelthorne Area as well as West London. utilising own transport

Desirable:

  • Physical Education Degree or Sports Coaching Degree
  • Qualified Teacher Status
