This role will deliver impactful education and mentoring support to young people aged 11–18 who may be at risk of not reaching their full potential.

This role sits within a new strategic partnership between Leeds United Foundation, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, and Wellspring Academy Trust, delivering programmes across multiple school settings.

Using the power of sport, you will support young people to improve attendance, behaviour, wellbeing, and aspirations, helping them succeed both in education and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing

Programme Delivery

- Plan, deliver, and evaluate Premier League Inspiressessions across secondary schools and partner settings.
- Deliver interventions across four key themes:Engagement & ParticipationHealth & WellbeingBelonging & CommunityOpportunity & Thriving
- Deliver both classroom-based and practical sessions aligned with programme curriculum.
- Lead delivery of the Premier League Inspires Challenge.

Mentoring & Youth Development

- Provide 1:1 mentoring and targeted interventions for young people facing barriers to learning.
- Support improvements in behaviour, attendance, and attitudes to learning.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with participants and their families/carers.
- Support progression pathways into education, training, or employment.
- Manage behaviour effectively and create safe, inclusive learning environments.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

- Track attendance, behaviour, and engagement data to measure impact.
- Monitor outcomes against KPIs and programme targets.
- Produce reports, case studies, and evidence for Premier League funding.
- Use data to inform interventions and improve delivery.

Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

- Work closely with:School leadership teamsPastoral staffParents/carersExternal agencies (e.g. health, social care)
- Act as a key contact for partner schools.
- Support cohort recruitment and participant selection with schools.
- Contribute to a joined-up, multi-agency approach to supporting young people.

Safeguarding, Compliance & Inclusion

- Deliver all activity in line with safeguarding, equality, and health & safety standards.
- Follow school and Foundation safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Promote inclusion and challenge discrimination, bullying, or abuse.
- Ensure GDPR and data protection compliance.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated individual with a passion for working with young people and making a meaningful difference in education and communities.

Essential Qualifications

- Level 2 Coaching Qualification (FA/NGB or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Learning Support, Education, or related field
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Youth Work or mentoring qualification (Level 2+)
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)

Essential Experience

- Experience working with young people aged 11–18 in schools or community settings
- Experience delivering group sessions and 1:1 interventions
- Experience supporting behaviour, attendance, and learner outcomes
- Experience working with vulnerable, disadvantaged, or at-risk young people
- Experience working collaboratively with multi-agency partners

Essential Skills

- Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with students, families, and stakeholders
- Ability to analyse data and produce reports
- Organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities

Desirable

- Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, PTLLS)
- Experience delivering Premier League Inspires or similar programmes
- Experience in SEND or alternative provision settings
- Level 4 qualification or working towards degree level
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
