Lancashire FA is seeking a passionate, motivated and community-focused Football Development Officer to join its Football Development Team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract running to 31st August 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in growing and developing grassroots football across Barrow, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Rossendale, while leading on Club and League Accreditation across Lancashire. Working closely with clubs, leagues, volunteers and community partners, you will help create more opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to play, enjoy and stay involved in football.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of The FA National Game Strategy and Lancashire FA's business strategy by driving participation growth, strengthening club and league development, supporting accredited clubs, and delivering key football development programmes. You will build strong local partnerships, identify new opportunities for growth, support funding applications, and work with stakeholders to create safe, inclusive and sustainable football environments across your designated area.

Lancashire FA are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual, ideally with experience in sports or community development, excellent relationship management skills and a genuine passion for grassroots football. You will be confident working independently, influencing a wide range of stakeholders and managing multiple projects, alongside having a strong understanding of club development and participation growth. Knowledge of the football landscape across Barrow, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Rossendale would be highly advantageous for this role.

This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover contract running to 31st August 2027, and the ideal candidate will start in August 2026. The role is based at Lancashire FA's headquarters in Leyland, with opportunities for hybrid working and regular travel across the designated area. The role involves occasional evening and weekend work and offers a competitive full-time equivalent salary of £24k-£26k per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be paid on a pro rata basis according to the contract length.
