The Legal Coordinator will work under the guidance of the Head of Legal FWWC 2027 and will provide general legal support to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ team in Brazil.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, review and compile PowerPoint presentations and legal documentation.
- Enter and regularly update information in the Wetrack tool and other internal systems.
- Provide translation and proofreading of legal documents.
- Provide legal advice to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ team in Brazil on civil, contractual, labor, and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, partners, etc.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Identify and support the mitigation of legal risks.
- Support internal and external audits by organizing and compiling requested documentation.
- Prepare legal opinions and management reports.
- Participate in strategic projects by providing legal support
- Assist in monitoring relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
- Demonstrate a team-based approach to achieving the best outcomes for FWWC 2027 in accordance with FIFA’s values.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a willingness to take a hands-on approach.
- Support tprocess efficiency and policy improvement.
- Ensure the assigned responsibilities are delivered to a high standard of quality and timeliness and in compliance with FIFA and FWWC 2027 policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws.
- Qualified to practice law in Brazil
- Fluency in English.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in a lay firm or in-house legal department.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Other knowledge and skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented and pragmatic mindset.
- Team player with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
- Empathetic, collaborative and patient, with a positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience with sporting or events organisations or commercial rights holders/sponsorship is considered an advantage.
- Strong identification with the FIFA World Cup and its potential positive impact on the Host Country
- Passion for football is a plus.
