POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior HRIS Analyst is the primary hands-on configuration authority and technical lead within the HRIS team, reporting to the Director of HR Information Systems. The team supports approximately 2,000+ workers across a multi-entity portfolio including the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, AMB West, AMB Impact, and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.

This role balances day-to-day Workday platform support with active participation in a multi-year HR Modernization initiative designed to reduce technical debt, establish governance standards, and mature the organization’s Workday environment. The Senior HRIS Analyst partners closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business unit leaders across all entities, and serves as an escalation point and mentor to HRIS Analysts on the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Workday Platform Modernization & Configuration

  • Serve as the team’s primary Workday configuration lead with accountability for platform health, stability, and functional advancement across all modules
  • Lead cross-module enhancements that eliminate manual workarounds, reduce technical debt, and align workflows to approved process designs
  • Identify and remediate legacy configuration gaps and data defects with sustainable, architecture-informed solutions
  • Partner with the Director of HRIS to execute the HR Modernization roadmap across Core HCM, Payroll, Security, Absence, Reporting, and integrations
  • Monitor Workday releases (R1/R2), assess impact to configuration and integrations, and coordinate testing with the HRIS team

Team Delivery & Project Leadership

  • Independently lead Workday projects end-to-end — from requirements gathering through production validation — and contribute as a senior collaborator on larger cross-functional initiatives
  • Share technical knowledge and configuration practices with the HRIS team to elevate team capability and reduce knowledge concentration risk
  • Support daily HRIS operations alongside the team, maintaining ticket SLA adherence and delivering consistent internal customer service
  • Design, configure, test, and deploy Workday enhancements following established change management and release validation practices
  • Diagnose complex configuration issues affecting payroll accuracy or compliance; perform root cause analysis and implement durable fixes
  • Train HR Operations team members on Workday processes; create job aids, documentation, and process guides that enable self-sufficiency

Business Partnership & Strategic Alignment

  • Translate requirements from HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business unit leaders into effective, scalable Workday solutions
  • Provide expert guidance on Workday best practices, configuration trade-offs, and upstream/downstream process impacts
  • Participate in governance forums and roadmap reviews to align Workday capabilities with organizational goals

Data Integrity, Security & Compliance

  • Maintain data accuracy across all entities through regular audits, proactive monitoring, and disciplined troubleshooting
  • Manage mass data loads and updates using EIBs with rigorous pre- and post-load validation
  • Support security group design, role rationalization, and domain security governance in partnership with IT and Information Security

Reporting & Documentation

  • Deliver accurate, actionable reports and dashboards that enable data-driven HR decision-making
  • Author and maintain system documentation, configuration runbooks, and change logs that support team continuity and adoption
  • Mentor HRIS Analysts on configuration techniques, testing practices, and professional standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HRIS experience with advanced, hands-on Workday configuration expertise
  • Demonstrated proficiency across multiple Workday functional areas including Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Security, and Reporting
  • Proven ability to independently lead Workday projects in complex, multi-entity environments
  • Strong experience with EIBs, mass data loads, and troubleshooting data integrity issues across the Workday data model
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in a small, high-output HRIS team where workload sharing and mutual accountability are essential
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and BAU support obligations without compromising delivery quality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Workday Pro Certification in HCM, Payroll, Security, Reporting, or Absence (one or more preferred; multiple a strong differentiator)
  • Prior role as Workday Named Support Contact, Security Lead, or Functional Lead
  • Experience in post-implementation stabilization or optimization engagements in multi-entity Workday environments
  • Exposure to Workday integration configuration (Core Connectors, EIBs, Studio, or ISU management)
  • Vendor management experience with implementation partners, AMS providers, or third-party integration vendors
  • Prior experience in professional sports, entertainment, retail, or similarly complex, seasonal workforce environments

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Enterprise Workday platform ownership and stewardship
  • HRIS modernization and systems thinking
  • Data integrity, compliance, and risk awareness
  • Collaborative, consultative team leadership and knowledge sharing
  • Business partnership and executive communication
  • Bias for sustainable solutions over short-term fixes
