What is the role?
We are looking for a Player Development Lead to observe, identify and recruit talented female players into our Emerging Talent Centre (ETC), working with the Academy Manager to manage the technical and physical delivery of all sessions for the ETC across a 30-week season.
What will you be doing?
You will manage the technical and physical syllabus delivered to players by the coaches and ensure there is an age-appropriate festival/fixture programme that aligns with the Southampton Girls and Women’s Technical Blueprint.
Attending weekly games, you will identify future talent for the ETC and coordinate the student scouting programme alongside the Academy Manager. You will invite identified players to trials and send player feedback to all caregivers at the conclusion of each block of work, while keeping secure records of all trialists and the feedback provided.
At the end of each 10-week block, you will facilitate meetings with coaching staff to review coaching performance and provide feedback on potential players, as well as attend meetings with other Southampton FC PDP staff to highlight any players with potential.
You will work with the Academy Manager to train, guide and mentor your team and ensure all team members have an up-to-date personal development plan that is regularly reviewed, while managing team performance in a constructive manner and ensuring positive work is recognised and appropriately rewarded.
